Why now

Cross-border selling got harder in 2026.

Aug 2025

The $800 de minimis exemption is gone

Low-value parcels into the U.S. no longer enter duty-free. Every shipment needs a correct 10-digit HTS code, and a wrong one means underpaid duty or penalties.

Feb 2026

IEEPA tariffs were struck down

The Supreme Court invalidated the 2025 IEEPA tariffs. Importers can claim refunds through CBP's CAPE portal, but only with clean entry and classification records.

Jul 2026

The EU ended its €150 duty threshold

Parcels into the European Union now pay customs duty from the first euro. Sellers shipping to both markets classify every SKU twice.

Questions

Is HTSBase a customs broker?
No. HTSBase gives you a researched classification and duty estimate. The importer of record is responsible for what is declared, and complex or high-value entries should be reviewed by a licensed broker.
Where does the data come from?
Rates and descriptions come directly from the Harmonized Tariff Schedule published by the U.S. International Trade Commission. Additional Section 232 and 301 duties are maintained as reviewed rules and flagged for confirmation.
How accurate is the classification?
Every answer comes with a confidence level, the reasoning, the alternatives it considered, and the facts that would change it. When a detail is missing, HTSBase asks instead of guessing.
Which countries are supported?
Imports into the United States from any country of origin today. European Union TARIC classification is next.
